    • Jethro Tull (1674 - 1741)

Jethro Tull contributed to the Industrial Revolution by creating the seed drill. The seed drill allowed seeds to be planted into the ground rather than on top of the soil where most seeds were washed away. It was pulled by horses and was made of rotating drills.

    • James Watt (1736- 1819)

When coal was the main source of energy during the 1700's, a British inventor, Thomas Newcomen, had created a
steam engine that was powered by coal in 1712. In 1764, however, British inventor, James Watt, took a second
look at Thomas Newcomen's invention and spent years making more efficient. This lead to powering steamships
and locomotives.
